Sow 101
Twenty years in the wild, and then the hunger of a bad year drove her and her 3 cubs into a town. Forest Service tried moving her back into a remote place but she returned. Unable to let her live at the edge of human populations upon which she had become dependent, she was moved here to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center where she continues to adjust and will live to a natural end. A successful rescue. She captured my heart.

Other animals, the bighorn sheep, ravens and black bear, live in the wild. On any day in the area where we traveled we only had to slow down and look. We spotted these and more.
