First thing in the morning we find extraordinary views of the river with Ile-d'Orleans as backdrop. The island splits the river for 20 miles just below Quebec City. Behind are Laurentian Mountains which drop right into the river further downstream.
We spend some time at Pointe-au-Pere's lighthouse complex, museum of the sunken Empress of Ireland, and the decommissioned submarine Onondaga. I am posting separately a set of pictures of the Onondaga for sub nerds.
Ed finds the right motel, on the water at Sainte-Anne-des-Monts. Sunset and low tide: too much beauty!
