Yellowstone: Marquetry and Copper at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel

The historic Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel at the north end of the park,
for all its modernization, contains treasure.
A huge parquetry map of the US from 1937, and a copper and shell fountain,
are especially notable.
Lighting of the map is an amateur photographer's challenge.
Of geopolitical note from the times: Africa, Central America, and East India are listed as source "countries" for some of the specialized woods.

This water fountain in the lobby is stunningly shaped of hammered copper.
