Ottawa: Library of Parliament
Why are there no books in this extraordinarily beautiful library toward the end of January 2019?
The Library building sits just behind the Centre Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, and the Centre Block is just beginning, at the end of January, a 10-year renovation project.
The books have been carefully redistributed and will always be available and in use for the duration.
A comprehensive account of the Library is here.

Canada's Parliament Buildings in Ottawa
The newly restored Library is in the foreground. The Tower of Victory and Peace holds the Books of Remembrance in a room high up near the clocks, honoring the many thousands of Canadians who lost their lives to war.
