Winter Aconite is Blooming Now

It is always blooming in March when the ground begins to show. Often I can be spotted shoveling the last drifts away to fully reveal our ever-expanding patches. Imagine our delight when we noticed it had begun to bloom last week. It became visible because we had lost all the snow to rain and warm winds. Is that why it bloomed so early?

Or is it even early? Does it always begin to bloom under the wintry snows of February?

It is covered again now, beneath almost a foot of new snow. I am confident that this February appearance will not spoil it for the March show.

  1. We call in Vintergäck, and I don't expect to find any just yet.
