Tug Hill: The Lamb of Cyntha A. in Highmarket

Cyntha Baringer died in the middle of January 1854, at the age of 6 months.

Cyntha or Cynthia? Did the stonemason drop the "I"? or did a Highmarket Cemetery researcher add one?

Highmarket is a high and open town at the eastern edge of the Tug Hill, an uplifted mass that extends from above Rome, west to within view of Lake Ontario, north to the edge of Watertown, and up the Black River valley to the north and east.  A few people lived and farmed here although it was a hard go. It receives massive snows in the winter. There aren't even very many cemeteries in the neighborhood. This one near Highmarket is also sparsely settled. Someone mows the grass.
