NYC: Sculpture in Battery Park

This bronze sculpture was inspired by a photograph taken by a German sailor as the merchant mariners clung to their sinking vessel.

    Rather harrowing, but very effective.The toll taken on merchant ships during the war was terrible, but they did such great service.
