Sakahàn: International Indigenous Art
Earth and Sky is a 50-metre work of banner art created by Shuvinai Ashoona of Cape Dorset and John Noestheden of Amsterdam at the National Gallery of Canada. It hangs in the long ramp leading to the galleries. The banner’s images reflect Arctic landscapes and cosmic visions. It is part of a huge city-wide show, Sakahàn: International Indigenous Art.
Sakahàn—means “to light [a fire]” in the language of the Algonquin peoples.

Perennial Forget-me-not
Brunnera macrophylla
Brunnera macrophylla is not to be confused with the common forget-me-not, Myosotis,
the abundant flower that self seeds and offers a riot of early color. Myosotis soon takes on the characteristics of a weed and can be pulled, a few at a time, whenever the gardner has a spare moment while waiting for the dog.
Brunnera macrophylla is a little taller and a perennial that can be deadheaded and left for another year.

Mountain Goat Winners!
They finished just 7:13 minutes apart!
Matthew Kiplagat and Maegan Krifchin
climb the Colvin Street hill toward Comstock Ave.
I admire anyone who runs even a part of the Mountain Goat.
It's a very tough race, and it was a hot day. Bravo to all!
